ToincorporatetheAlleeeffect,weintroduceathresholdpopulationsizeforprey,belowwhichthepopulationexperiencesadeclineduetoreducedreproductivesuccess.ThisthresholdpopulationsizeisdenotedbyN0,andwemodifythepreygrowthrateterminthefirstequationtoreflectthis: dN/dt=rN(1-N/K)(N>N0)-cNP/(aN+P) dN/dt=0(N<=N0)-cNP/(aN+P) Thus,whenthepreypopulationfallsbelowN0,itsgrowthratebecomeszero,andthepopulationstartstodeclineduetopredation.ThismodificationtothemodelisconsistentwiththeAlleeeffect,whichpredictsadeclineinreproductivesuccessatlowpopulationdensities.
