Abstract:
Lowvoltagedirectcurrent(LVDC)systemsaregainingsignificantattentionduetotheirpotentialtoimproveenergyefficiencyandreducecosts.However,evaluatingtheeconomicviabilityofLVDCsystemsisacomplextaskduetovariousfactorsinfluencingtheirimplementation.ThispaperaimstoproposeaneconomicevaluationmethodforLVDCsystemsthatconsidersthecapitalcosts,operationalsavings,andotherrelevantfactors.TheproposedmethodprovidesacomprehensiveassessmentoftheeconomicfeasibilityofLVDCsystems,enablingdecision-makerstomakeinformedchoicesfortheirimplementation.
Introduction:
Lowvoltagedirectcurrent(LVDC)systemshaveemergedasanalternativetoconventionalalternatingcurrent(AC)systems,primarilydrivenbytheneedforenergyefficiencyandcostreduction.LVDCsystemsofferseveraladvantages,includinghigherpowerquality,reducedtransmissionlosses,andimprovedintegrationwithrenewableenergysources.However,widespreadadoptionofLVDCsystemsrequiresathoroughassessmentoftheireconomicfeasibility.ThispaperpresentsaresearchstudyonaneconomicevaluationmethodforLVDCsystems,providingasystematicapproachtodeterminetheireconomicviability.
LiteratureReview:
AcomprehensivereviewoftheexistingliteraturewasconductedtounderstandthecurrentresearchandpracticesrelatedtotheeconomicevaluationofLVDCsystems.SeveralstudieshavefocusedonevaluatingthetechnicalfeasibilityandperformanceofLVDCsystemsbutlackadetailedeconomicanalysis.Somestudieshaveproposedeconomicevaluationmethodsbasedsolelyoncapitalcosts,ignoringthepotentialoperationalsavingsandotherimportantfactors.ThisresearchaimstobridgethisgapbyproposingaholisticeconomicevaluationmethodforLVDCsystems.
Methodology:
TheproposedeconomicevaluationmethodforLVDCsystemsconsistsofmultiplesteps,including:
1.CapitalCostAnalysis:AssessingtheinitialinvestmentrequiredfortheinstallationofLVDCsystems,consideringequipmentcosts,installationcosts,andanynecessarymodificationstotheexistinginfrastructure.
