Cofferdamfoundationsaresubjectedtovariousdynamicloadsduringtheirservicelife.Onesignificantdynamicloadisthehorizontalvibrationcausedbythesurroundingwaterandpassingtraffic.Toensurethestabilityofthecofferdam,itisimportanttostudythehorizontalvibrationcharacteristicsofthecofferdamfoundationwithdifferentcushionlayers. CushionLayer: Thecushionlayerisreferredtoasalayerofdeformablematerialplacedbetweenthecofferdamfoundationandthesoil.Theprimaryfunctionofthecushionlayeristoreducetheimpactofdynamicloadscausedbypassingtraffic,waterwaves,andotherloadsonthefoundation.Thecushionlayertypicallyconsistsofmaterialssuchasrubber,foam,oracombinationofboth.Thethicknessandmodulusofthecushionlayercansignificantlyaffectthehorizontalvibrationcharacteristicsofthecofferdamfoundation. ExperimentalDesign: Tostudythehorizontalvibrationcharacteristicsofthecofferdamfoundationwithdifferentcushionlayers,aseriesofexperimentswereconductedusinga1/10scalemodelcofferdamfoundationinalargewatertank.Thecofferdamfoundationconsistedofsteelsheetpileswithalengthof30cm,aheightof20cm,andathicknessof0.5cm.Threetypesofcushionlayerswereusedintheexperiments:rubber,foam,andacombinationofrubberandfoam.Thethicknessofthecushionlayerwasvariedbetween5mm,10mm,and20mm. Tosimulatethepassingtrafficload,anexcitationforcewasappliedtothecofferdamfoundationmodelusingasinusoidalvibrationexciter.Theexcitationfrequencywasvariedbetween1Hzand10Hz,andtheamplitudewasvariedbetween
