Abstract:
Wave-piercingvesselshavegainedsignificantattentionduetotheirsuperiorperformanceinreducingresistanceandimprovingfuelefficiency.Thisstudyaimstoinvestigatetheinfluenceoflateralsymmetryontheresistanceperformanceofthree-bodywave-piercingvessels.Aseriesofexperimentaltestswereconductedinacontrolledwatertankenvironment,examiningtheresistancecharacteristicsundervariousconditions.
1.Introduction:
Wave-piercingvesselshaveemergedasapromisingsolutiontoimprovetheefficiencyandperformanceofships.Thedesignofthesevesselsincorporatesacentralhull,ormainbody,flankedbytwosmallerhulls,orsidebodies.Lateralsymmetry,orthesymmetricarrangementofthesidebodies,hasthepotentialtoaffecttheresistanceperformanceofwave-piercingvessels.Thispaperaimstoexploretheimpactoflateralsymmetryonresistanceperformancethroughexperimentalanalysis.
2.ExperimentalSetup:
Theexperimentalsetupconsistedofascaledmodelofathree-bodywave-piercingvessel,representativeofareal-worldscenario.Thehullwascarefullyconstructedtoreplicatethegeometryofawave-piercingvessel,andthelateralsymmetrywasadjustedtoevaluateitseffects.Watertankswereusedtosimulatedifferentseastatesandgeneratecontrolledwaves.Arangeofparameterssuchaswaveheights,wavelengths,andvelocitieswereselectedtoobservetheresponseofthevesselundervariousconditions.
3.ExperimentalProcedure:
