ThispaperproposesanovelapproachtooptimizeshipprofileCADmodelparametersusingafusionofGeneticAlgorithm(GA)andParticleSwarmOptimization(PSO),calledGA-PSOfusionalgorithm.TheGA-PSOfusionalgorithmcombinestheglobalsearchcapabilityofGAwiththerapidconvergenceofPSO,providinganeffectivesolutionforparameteroptimizationproblems. Inthisstudy,theshipprofileCADmodelsarerepresentedbyasetofparameters,includingbowshape,bulgeplacement,keelcurve,andsternshape.Theobjectivefunctionconsideredistheminimizationofhydrodynamicresistance,whichisacriticalfactorforshipperformance.Thedesignvariablesandconstraintsaredefinedbasedonengineeringspecificationsandrequirements. IntheGA-PSOfusionalgorithm,thepopulationinitializationiscarriedoutusingGA,creatinganinitialpopulationthatrepresentsthediversesolutionsinthesearchspace.Thefitnessvaluesoftheindividualsintheinitialpopulationareevaluatedbasedontheobjectivefunction.ThePSOalgorithmisthenappliedtoupdatetheindividuals'velocitiesandpositionsbasedontheirpersonalbestandglobalbestinformation,promotingtheexplorationandexploitationofthesearchspace.TheGAandPSOcomponentsiterativelyinteracttorefineandoptimizetheparametervaluesoftheshipprofileCADmodels. TovalidatetheeffectivenessoftheproposedGA-PSOfusionalgorithm,itisappliedtoacasestudyinvolvingtheoptimizationofashipprofileCADmodelforacontainership.TheresultsdemonstratethattheGA-PSOfusionalgorithmcansuccessfullyconvergetotheoptimalparametervaluesthatminimizehydrodynamicresistancewhilesatisfyingthedesignconstraints.TheoptimizedshipprofileCADmodelexhibitsimprovedperformancecomparedtotheinitialdesign.
