Abstract:
Thecontrolsystemfortheship-basedconstantpressurewatersupplydeviceplaysavitalroleinensuringtheuninterruptedsupplyofwatertovarioussystemsandcompartmentsonboard.Thispaperpresentsanin-depthanalysisofthedesign,implementation,andadvantagesofthecontrolsystembasedonProgrammableLogicController(PLC)forship-basedconstantpressurewatersupplydevices.Thesystemenablesprecisecontrol,efficientoperation,andenhancedsafetyfeaturesforwatersupplyonships.
Introduction:
Areliablewatersupplysystemiscrucialforthesmoothoperationofvariousfunctionsandsystemsonships.Traditionalcontrolsystemsforship-basedwatersupplydeviceswereoftenmanualorsemi-automated,leadingtochallengessuchasinconsistentwaterpressure,wastage,andsafetyhazards.TheadventofProgrammableLogicControllers(PLCs)hasrevolutionizedthecontrolsystemdesign,offeringenhancedcontrol,reliability,andsafetyfeatures.PLCsarewidelyusedinvariousindustrialapplications,includingshipsystems,duetotheirflexibility,programmability,androbustness.
SystemDesign:
Thecontrolsystemfortheship-basedconstantpressurewatersupplydeviceconsistsofseveralkeycomponents:PLC,sensorsforwaterpressureandflow,controlvalves,pumps,andhuman-machineinterface(HMI)forsystemmonitoringandcontrol.ThePLCactsasthebrainofthesystem,receivingsignalsfromvarioussensors,processinginputs,andgeneratingappropriateoutputstoregulatewaterpressureandflow.
Thesystemdesignincludesanarchitecturethatensuresthecontinuousmonitoringofwaterpressureandflow.Thesensorstransmitreal-timemeasurementstothePLC,whichusestheseinputstoregulatethespeedofthepumpsandcontrolvalves.ThePLCconstantlycomparesthedesiredpressurevalueswiththeactualvaluesandadjuststhecontrolparametersaccordingly.Thisclosed-loopcontrolsystemensuresthatthewaterpressureremainsconstant,eliminatingfluctuationsandprovidingareliablewatersupply.
