Introduction
Intoday'sfast-pacedworld,performanceappraisalhasbecomeanessentialtoolinevaluatingemployees'productivity,knowledge,andskills.Theannualperformanceappraisalprocessisacriticalaspectofemployeedevelopment,butthetraditionalprocessofmanuallycollectingandanalyzingemployees'feedbackcanbetediousandresource-intensive.Inthispaper,weexplorethedesignandimplementationofanannualperformanceappraisalvotingsystemusingSpringBoot,whichaimstoautomatethevotingprocessandimprovetheefficiencyofperformanceappraisals.
Background
Thetraditionalprocessofannualperformanceappraisalinvolvesgatheringfeedbackfromdifferentsources,includingemployees,peers,supervisors,andcustomersusingquestionnaires,surveys,andfeedbackforms.Thecollecteddataisthenanalyzedtoevaluatetheemployee'sperformanceandidentifyareasofimprovement.Theprocessistime-consuming,andtheresultsareoftensubjectivesincethedatamaybeinfluencedbybias,interpretation,andsocialdesirability.
Toovercomethesechallenges,companieshaveadoptedtechnologytoenhancetheirperformanceappraisalprocess.Theuseofperformanceappraisalsoftwareandsystemshasincreasedovertheyears,withmanysystemsleveragingemergingtechnologies,suchasartificialintelligence,machinelearning,andnaturallanguageprocessing,toautomatethedatacollectionandanalysisprocess.
Theproposedsystemaimstoimprovetheannualperformanceappraisalprocessbyintroducingavotingsystem.Thevotingsystemautomatesthedatacollectionprocessbycollectingfeedbackfromemployees,peers,andsupervisors.Furthermore,itprovidesaplatformforevaluatingemployeesanonymously,reducingtheimpactofsocialdesirabilityandbiasontheresults.
DesignandImplementation
TheproposedsystemisdesignedusingSpringBoot,whichisanopen-sourceframeworkforbuildingstand-alone,production-gradeJavaapplications.Theframeworkprovidesarangeoffeatures,includingembeddedservers,metrics,andhealthchecks.
Thesystemcomprisestwomainmodules,oneforuserregistrationandanotherforvoting.Theuserregistrationmoduleallowsemployeestoregisterasusersbyprovidingthe
