Abstract
Theautomaticpackagingmachineisanimportantdeviceinthepackagingindustry.PLCandmotionmodulearecommonlyusedascontrolsystemsforautomaticpackagingmachines.Inthispaper,wepresentthedesignofapillow-styleautomaticpackagingmachinecontrolledbyPLCandmotionmodule.Thedesignandimplementationofthecontrolsystemaredescribedindetail,includingthesystemarchitecture,hardwareandsoftwaredesign,andprogramming.Theresultsshowthatthedesignisreliableandefficientincontrollingtheautomaticpackagingprocess.
Introduction
Withthedevelopmentofmodernindustrialproduction,automaticpackagingmachineshavebeenwidelyusedinvariousindustries,suchasfood,pharmaceutical,anddailychemicalindustries.Automaticpackagingmachinesaredesignedtopackproductsefficientlyandaccurately,whichgreatlyimprovesproductionefficiencyandreduceslaborcosts.
PLC(ProgrammableLogicController)isacommonlyusedcontrolsysteminindustrialautomation.PLCiswidelyusedinvariousproductionprocesses,includingautomaticpackagingmachines.PLChashighreliability,stronganti-interferenceability,andeasyprogramming.InadditiontoPLC,motionmoduleisalsoanessentialcomponentforthecontrolsystemofautomaticpackagingmachines.Motionmodulecanbeusedforaccuratepositioningandmovementcontrolofthepackagingmachine,whichiscrucialforthepackagingquality.
DesignoftheAutomaticPackagingMachine
Theautomaticpackagingmachinedesignedinthispaperisapillow-stylepackagingmachine.Thepackagingprocessincludesthreestages:bagmaking,filling,andsealing.Thebag-makingprocessiscompletedbythebagmakingmachine,thefillingprocessiscompletedbythefillingmachine,andthesealingprocessiscompletedbythesealingmachine.
AsshowninFigure1,thecontrolsystemoftheautomaticpackagingmachineincludesPLC,motionmodule,human-machineinterface(HMI),andvarioussensors.TheHMIisusedforparametersettinganddisplay,andthesensorsareusedtodetectthepackagingprocessandfeedbackthesignaltothePLC.Themotionmoduleisusedforaccuratepositioningandmovementcontrolofthepackagingmachine.
