Abstract:
Interferometricfiberopticsensorshavegainedsignificantattentionduetotheirhighsensitivityandaccuracy.Thesesensorsrelyontheaccuratedemodulationofphaseinformationtomeasurevariousparameterssuchastemperature,strain,andpressure.Onecriticalcomponentinthesesensorsisthe3×3coupler,whichplaysacrucialroleinextractingthephaseinformationfromtheinputsignals.However,thenon-idealcharacteristicsofthecouplercanintroduceerrorsinthedemodulatedphase.Thispaperaimstoanalyzetheimpactofnon-ideal3×3couplersonphasedemodulationininterferometricfiberopticsensors.
1.Introduction:
Interferometricfiberopticsensorsareapromisingtechnologyforpreciseandreliablemeasurements.The3×3coupler,alsoknownasadirectionalcoupler,isakeycomponentthatsplitstheincidentopticalpowerintotwooutputportsinaspecificratio.Inidealconditions,aperfectlysymmetricandbalanced3×3couplercanensureaccuratephasedemodulation.However,variousnon-idealeffectssuchasfabricationimperfections,polarization-dependentsplittingratios,andwavelengthdependencecanintroduceerrorsinthephasedemodulationprocess.
