Introduction: Thewirelesscommunicationsystemconsistsofatransmitter,amedium,andareceiver.Thetransmittedsignalisaffectedbyvarioustypesoffading.Thefadingcanbeduetotheshadowingeffect,multipathpropagation,andDopplershift.Amongthese,RayleighfadingwithDopplershiftisthemostcommontypeoffading. Inthistypeoffading,thereceivedsignalfluctuatesinamplitudeandphaseduetotherandomphaseofthearrivingsignals.TheDopplershiftisduetothemovementofthetransmitterorreceiverrelativetothemedium.Thisshiftcausesafrequencyshiftinthereceivedsignal.Theseeffectscancauseasignificantlossincommunicationperformance. DesignandSimulation: Inthedesignofawirelesscommunicationsystem,itisimportanttoconsidertheeffectsoffading.Thesystemshouldbedesignedtominimizethefadingeffectsandprovidereliablecommunication.Toachievethis,itisimportanttounderstandthecharacteristicsofthefadingandtheeffectsofDopplershift. Simulationisapowerfultoolforanalyzingtheperformanceofawirelesscommunicationsystem.Inthispaper,weuseasimulationtoinvestigatetheperformanceofawirelesscommunicationsysteminaRayleighfadingenvironmentwithDopplershift. Thesimulationconsistsofatransmitter,amedium,andareceiver.Thetransmittersendsasignaltothereceiverthroughthemedium.ThemediumismodeledasaRayleighfadingchannelwithDopplershift.Thereceiverreceivesthesignalandprocessesittorecovertheoriginalsignal. WesimulatethesystemfordifferentvaluesofDopplerfrequencyandanalyzetheperformance.Wemeasurethebiterrorrate(BER)andthesignal-to-noiseratio(SNR)fordifferentvaluesofDopplerfrequency.Wealsocomparethesimulationresultswiththetheoreticalresults.
