Abstract:
MountMaolushanisknownforitsdiverseforestecosystems.Thisstudyinvestigatesthesoilanimals,soilrespiration,andtheirinterrelationshipsinthreedifferentforestecosystems:evergreenbroad-leavedforest,coniferousforest,andmixedforest.Soilsampleswerecollected,andvariousmethodswereemployedtoassessthesoilanimals,soilrespiration,soilphysicochemicalproperties,andplantspeciescomposition.Theresultsindicatethatsoilanimalsplayacrucialroleinsoilrespirationandnutrientcyclingwithintheseforestecosystems.Understandingtheinterrelationshipsbetweensoilanimals,soilrespiration,andsoilhealthisvitalforthesustainablemanagementofthesevaluableecosystems.
1.Introduction:
Theforestecosystemisacomplexnetworkofinteractionsbetweenplants,animals,andmicroorganisms.Soilanimals,includingmites,insects,nematodes,andearthworms,contributesignificantlytosoilhealthandfunctioningbyenhancingsoilfertility,organicmatterdecomposition,andnutrientcycling.Soilrespiration,avitalprocessinthecarboncycle,isinfluencedbybothbioticandabioticfactors.Investigatingtheinteractionsbetweensoilanimals,soilrespiration,andsoilpropertiesiscrucialforacomprehensiveunderstandingofecosystemfunctioning.
2.Objectives:
Thisstudyaimstoassessthediversityandabundanceofsoilanimals,quantifysoilrespirationrates,analyzetherelationshipsbetweensoilanimalsandsoilrespiration,andinvestigatetheinfluenceofsoilphysicochemicalpropertiesontheserelationshipsinthreeforestecosystemsonMountMaolushan.
3.MaterialsandMethods:
3.1StudyArea:
MountMaolushanislocatedinthesoutheasternpartofChinaandhasthreemainforesttypes:evergreenbroad-leavedforest,coniferousforest,andmixedforest.Theseforestswereselectedasthestudysites.
3.2SoilSampling:
Soilsampleswerecollectedfromdifferentdepthsandlocationswithineachforesttype.Intotal,30soilsampleswerecollectedandpreparedforanalysis.
