Abstract
Inrecentyears,theseparationtechniqueofusingresinsfortheremovalofimpuritiesfromantibioticshasbeenwidelyusedintheindustry.However,theuseofresinshasitslimitations,suchashighoperatingcosts,limitedreusability,andpotentialenvironmentalissues.Therefore,alternativeseparationtechniqueshavebeendeveloped,includingtheuseofactivatedcarbonanddecolorizingmembranesfortheseparationofChunleimycin.Inthisstudy,acomparativeanalysiswasconductedontheeffectivenessandefficiencyofthesealternativemethods,anditwasfoundthattheuseofactivatedcarbonanddecolorizingmembranesisaviablealternativetotheuseofresinsintheseparationofChunleimycin.
Introduction
Chunleimycinisanimportantantibioticusedinthetreatmentofawiderangeofinfections,particularlyintherespiratoryandurinarysystems.However,theproductionofChunleimycininvolvestheuseofvariouschemicalsandsolventsthatmayresultinthecontaminationofthefinalproduct.Therefore,itisnecessarytoremoveimpuritiesbeforeChunleimycincanbeusedfortherapeuticpurposes.
Theuseofresinsfortheremovalofimpuritiesfromantibioticshasbeenapopulartechniqueintheindustry.Resinsaresyntheticmaterialswithahighaffinityforcertaincompounds,suchasimpurities.Theimpuritiesareadsorbedontothesurfaceoftheresin,whilethetargetmolecule,inthiscaseChunleimycin,passesthroughtheresinunimpeded.
However,theuseofresinshasitslimitations.Resinscanbeexpensivetooperate,havelimitedreusability,andmaycreatepotentialenvironmentalissuesduetotheirdisposal.Therefore,alternativeseparationtechniqueshavebeendeveloped,includingtheuseofactivatedcarbonanddecolorizingmembranes.
Activatedcarbonisaporousmaterialwithahighsurfaceareathatallowsfortheadsorptionofsmallmoleculesandimpurities.Decolorizingmembranes,ontheotherhand,arethinsheetsofmaterialthatselectivelyremovepigmentsandimpuritiesfromsolutions.
Inthisstudy,acomparativeanalysiswasconductedontheeffectivenessandefficiencyoftheuseofactivatedcarbonanddecolorizingmembranesintheseparationofChunleimycin.
