Abstract:
Flexiblestrainsensorsbasedonmulti-walledcarbonnanotubes(MWCNTs)andpolydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)compositematerialshavegainedsignificantattentionduetotheiruniquepropertiesandwiderangeofapplications.Thispaperinvestigatestheinfluenceoftemperatureontheperformanceandsensitivityofthesesensors.Acomprehensiveunderstandingofthetemperatureeffectwillprovidevaluableinsightsforthedevelopmentandoptimizationofflexiblestrainsensorsforvariousapplications.
Introduction:
Flexiblestrainsensorshavebecomehighlydesirableduetotheirpotentialapplicationsinwearabletechnology,robotics,andbiomedicaldevices.MWCNTs-PDMScompositematerialshaveshownpromiseinachievinghighsensitivityandflexibility.However,itisessentialtounderstandhowtemperatureaffectstheperformanceofthesesensors,astemperaturefluctuationscanoccurinreal-worldapplications.
TemperatureEffectsonMWCNTs-PDMSCompositeMaterials:
TemperaturecansignificantlyinfluencethemechanicalpropertiesoftheMWCNTs-PDMScompositematerials,whichdirectlyaffectstheperformanceofthestrainsensors.Atelevatedtemperatures,PDMSbecomesmorecompliant,leadingtoincreasedflexibility.However,excessivethermalexpansionofMWCNTsmaycausedelaminationoragglomeration,affectingtheconductivityofthecompositematerial.Therefore,anoptimaltemperaturerangeneedstobedeterminedtoensurethebestperformanceofthestrainsensors.
TemperatureEffectsonSensorPerformance:
1.Sensitivity:TemperaturevariationscancausechangesintheresistanceoftheMWCNTs-PDMScomposite,leadingtovariationsinthesensitivityofthestrainsensors.TheelectricalresistanceofMWCNTsisknowntodecreasewithincreasingtemperatureduetothermalexpansion.However,thesensitivityofthestrainsensorsshouldbecarefullyoptimizedtoensurereliableandaccuratemeasurements.
