Abstract:
Woodisawidelyusednaturalresourcewithvariousapplications,suchasconstruction,furniture,andbioenergyproduction.Understandingthestructuralcharacteristicsandchemicalcompositionofdifferentwoodspeciesisessentialforoptimizingtheirutilization.Inthisstudy,wefocusontwopopularwoodspecies,BaiLaMu(Populustomentosa)andShuiQuLiu(Larixprincipis-rupprechtii),investigatingtheirstructuralfeaturesandanalyzingthechemicalcomponentsthroughGC-MSanalysis.
1.Introduction:
Woodplaysasignificantroleinourdailylivesduetoitsversatilityandabundance.Thestructuralcharacteristicsofwood,includingcellwallcompositionandanatomicalfeatures,greatlyinfluenceitsmechanicalpropertiesandchemicalcomposition.Additionally,thechemicalcomponentspresentinwoodcanprovidevaluableinsightsintoitspotentialapplications.Inthisstudy,wedelveintothestructuralfeaturesofBaiLaMuandShuiQuLiuwoodandexplorethechemicalconstituentsviaGC-MSanalysis.
2.StructuralCharacteristics:
2.1BaiLaMu:
BaiLaMuwoodexhibitsdistinctanatomicalfeatures,consistingofvessels,fibers,axialparenchyma,andrays.Thevesselelementsarelarge,withperforationplatesandscalariformorreticulatevessels.Fibersarelongandslender,providingstrengthandresiliencetothewood.Axialparenchymacellsarethin-walledandoftenarrangedintangentialbandsordiffusepatterns.Raysappearasthin,horizontallinesandserveaschannelsforwaterandnutrients.ThecellwallcompositionofBaiLaMuwoodprimarilyconsistsofcellulose,hemicelluloses,andlignin.
2.2ShuiQuLiu:
ShuiQuLiuwoodpossessesdistinctanatomicalfeatures,includingtracheids,fibers,axialparenchyma,andrays.Tracheidsarethewater-conductingcellswithoverlappingendwalls,whilefibersprovidestructuralsupportandflexibility.Axialparenchymacellsareoftenfoundintangentialbands,filledwithstoragematerials,andfacilitatewatermovement.Raysaretypicallywideandprominent.ThecellwallcompositionofShuiQuLiuwoodincludescellulose,hemicelluloses,andlign
