Introduction:
Environmentalwaterqualitymonitoringplaysacrucialroleinassessingtheimpactofindustrialactivitiesandidentifyingpotentialriskstohumanhealthandecosystems.Anions,includingthiocyanate,fluoride,chloride,bromide,nitrate,nitrite,sulfate,andphosphate,arecommonlyfoundinwatersamplesandcanserveasindicatorsofvariousenvironmentalconcerns.Consequently,itisimportanttodevelopefficientandaccurateanalyticalmethodsforthesimultaneousdeterminationoftheseanions.Ionchromatography(IC)isapowerfultechniquethatoffershighsensitivity,selectivity,andversatilityforthequantificationofawiderangeofanions.ThispaperaimstodiscusstheapplicationofICforthesimultaneousdeterminationofeightanions,includingthiocyanate,inenvironmentalwatersamples.
PrincipleofIonChromatography:
Ionchromatographyisbasedontheseparationofionsusinganionexchangestationaryphase.Thesampleisfirstinjectedintoamobilephase,typicallyanaqueoussolution,andpassesthroughaseparationcolumnpackedwithanionexchangeresin.Ionsofinterestareretainedorelutedbasedontheiraffinityfortheionexchangeresin.Asuppressordeviceisoftenemployedtoremovethebackgroundconductivityoftheeluent,allowingforimprovedsensitivityandbaselineseparation.
ExperimentalMethodology:
1.SampleCollectionandPreparation:

2.CalibrationCurvePreparation:
