Abstract:
Theinteractionbetweensoilandconcretepilesingeotechnicalengineeringisofparamountimportancetoensurethestabilityandcarryingcapacityoffoundationstructures.Thisstudyaimstoinvestigatetheshearcharacteristicsatthesoil-concretepileinterfaceundertheinfluenceofmudcake.Aseriesoflaboratoryexperimentswerecarriedouttodeterminetheeffectofmudcakeontheinterfaceshearstrengthanditsinfluenceontheoverallbehaviorofthesoil-concretepilesystem.
1.Introduction
Thesoil-concretepileinterfaceplaysacriticalroleintheloadtransfermechanismoffoundationsystems.Inpractice,itisnotuncommontofindpilessurroundedbymudorclay,leadingtotheformationofathincohesivemudcakeattheinterface.Thismudcakecansignificantlyaltertheshearbehaviorandinterfacestrength,affectingtheoverallperformanceofthefoundationsystem.Therefore,acomprehensiveunderstandingoftheinfluenceofmudcakeonthesoil-concretepileinterfaceisessential.
2.ExperimentalSetup
Theexperimentalsetupconsistsofaspeciallydesignedapparatusthatsimulatesthesoil-concretepileinteraction.Thesoilusedwasawell-gradedsand,andtheconcretepileswerecastwithstandarddimensions.Themudcakewasartificiallycreatedbyapplyingathinlayerofclayslurryonthepilesurfaces.Varioustestswereconducted,includingdirectsheartests,pull-outtests,andinterfacefrictionangletests,tostudytheshearpropertiesandinterfacecharacteristics.
