Abstract:
Forkliftsplayavitalroleinvariousindustriesandarerelieduponfortheirefficientmaterialhandlingcapabilities.Onecommonissuefacedbyforkliftsisthedevelopmentofcracksintherimsofinflatablesolidrubbertires.Thesecrackscanleadtotirefailure,whichcompromisessafety,increasesmaintenancecosts,andaffectstheproductivityofforkliftoperations.Thispaperaimstoproposeanoptimizeddesignforthemoldedsteelringusedinthetirerimstomitigateoreliminatetheoccurrenceofcracks.
1.Introduction:
1.1BackgroundoftheProblem:
Theuseofforkliftsequippedwithinflatablesolidrubbertireshasbecomecommonplaceinmanyindustries.However,thepresenceofcracksinthetirerimssignificantlyaffectstheirperformanceandlifespan.Crackscanoccurduetovariousfactorssuchasmaterialfatigue,improperdesign,orexcessiveloads.
1.2Objective:
Themainobjectiveofthisstudyistooptimizethedesignofthemoldedsteelringusedinthetirerimstoenhancetheirstructuralintegrityandeliminateorminimizetheoccurrenceofcracks.
2.LiteratureReview:
Thissectionprovidesanoverviewofpreviousstudies,research,andinnovationsrelatedtotirerimcracksandtheirunderlyingcauses.Variousapproachestoimprovetheperformanceoftirerims,suchasmaterialselection,manufacturingprocesses,andstructuraldesign,arediscussed.
3.Methodology:
3.1ProblemAnalysis:
Adetailedanalysisofthefactorscontributingtotirerimcracksisperformed.Thisincludesunderstandingthematerialproperties,designconstraints,andoperatingconditionsthatimpacttheperformanceofthetirerims.
3.2DesignOptimization:
Tooptimizethedesignofthesteelring,acombinationofanalyticalandnumericalmethodsisemployed.FiniteElementAnalysis(FEA)isusedtosimulatethestructuralbehaviorofthetirerimsunderdifferentloadconditions.Designvariablessuchasthethickness,shape,andmaterialpropertiesofthesteelringareconsidered.
