Abstract:
Withthedevelopmentofartificialintelligence,thedemandforintelligentvideosurveillancesystemshaswitnessedrapidgrowthinrecentyears.Thispaperfocusesonvideoencodingtechniquesforroadtrafficscenesurveillance,aimingtoenhancetheefficiencyandeffectivenessofmonitoringsystemsinthisspecificcontext.Weanalyzetheuniquechallengesposedbyroadtrafficscenemonitoring,discusstheimpactofvideoencodingonsystemperformance,andexplorethepotentialsolutionsforoptimizingvideoencodingtechniques.Thisresearchaimstocontributetothedevelopmentofintelligentmonitoringsystemsforroadtrafficscenes.
1.Introduction:
Roadtrafficscenesurveillanceplaysacrucialroleinensuringpublicsafety,trafficmanagement,andlawenforcement.Traditionalsurveillancesystemsemployclosed-circuittelevision(CCTV)camerastocaptureliverecordings.However,thesesystemsfacechallengesintermsofvideostorage,transmissionbandwidth,andreal-timeanalysiscapabilities.Efficientvideoencodingtechniquesareessentialforaddressingthesechallengesandimprovingoverallsystemperformance.
2.ChallengesinRoadTrafficSceneMonitoring:
a)High-datavolume:Roadtrafficscenesgeneratevastamountsofdataduetothelargenumberofmovingobjects.Efficientvideoencodingisnecessarytocompressandstorerecordedvideoseffectively.
b)Real-timeanalysis:Monitoringsystemsmustprocessvideostreamsinreal-timetoenableimmediaterecognitionandresponsetotrafficincidentsorviolations.
c)Bandwidthconstraints:Thetransmittedvideodatamustbecompressedtofitwithinlimitednetworkbandwidthwhilemaintainingacceptablevideoquality.
d)Objectdetectionandrecognition:Monitoringsystemsneedtoaccuratelydetectandrecognizevariousobjects,suchasvehicles,pedestrians,andtrafficsigns,fromthevideofootage.
3.VideoEncodingTechniques:
a)H.264/AVC:Thiswidelyusedvideoencodingstandardoffershighcompressionefficiency,real-timeencoding,andcompatibilitywithexistingsystems.However,itmaynotbesuitableforroadtrafficmonitoringduetolimitationsinpreservingfinedetailsandtheabil
