Abstract:
Lithium-ionbatteriesarewidelyusedinvariousapplicationsduetotheirhighenergydensityandlongcyclelife.Understandingthethermalcharacteristicsofthesebatteriesiscrucialfortheirsafeandefficientoperation.Thisstudyaimstoinvestigatetheimpactofexperimentalconditionsontheaccuracyofthermalparameteridentificationinlithium-ionbatteriesusingdimensionlessmethods.Bynormalizingtheexperimentaldata,theeffectsofdifferentconditions,suchasambienttemperature,charging/dischargingrates,andcellgeometry,canbeeffectivelycompared.
Introduction:
Lithium-ionbatteriesarecomplexsystemswithmultiplethermalpropertiesthatplayacriticalroleintheirperformance.Accurateidentificationoftheseparametersisessentialformodelingandpredictingbatterybehavioraccurately.However,theaccuracyofthermalparameteridentificationcanbeaffectedbyvariousexperimentalconditions.Dimensionlessanalysisoffersapowerfultooltounderstandandcomparetheseeffectsbyremovingtheinherentscalesofthesystemandallowingfordirectcomparison.
Methods:
Toinvestigatetheimpactofexperimentalconditionsontheaccuracyofthermalparameteridentification,thefollowingstepswerecarriedout:
1.Definethedimensionlessparameters:Tocomparedifferentexperiments,dimensionlessparameterswereestablishedbynormalizingtheexperimentaldata.TheseparametersincludetheNusseltnumber(Nu),Biotnumber(Bi),andPrandtlnumber(Pr),whicharecommonlyusedtodescribeheattransferinbatteries.
2.Selectexperimentalconditions:Theimpactofdifferentexperimentalconditions,suchasambienttemperature,charging/dischargingrates,andcellgeometry,werestudied.Multiplesetsofexperimentswereconductedundervaryingconditions.
3.Datacollectionandanalysis:Experimentaldata,includingtemperatureprofiles,heatgenerationrates,andotherrelevantparameters,werecollectedduringeachexperiment.Dimensionlessanalysiswasperformedonthecollecteddatatocomparetheeffectsofdi
