Introduction:
TheCentralYangtzeRiverCityCluster(CYRCC)isanimportantregionaldevelopmentstrategyinChina,aimingtopromotethecoordinatedgrowthandbalanceddevelopmentofcitiesalongtheYangtzeRiver.WiththerapiddevelopmentofthetourismindustryintheCYRCC,acomprehensiveanalysisofitsimpactonecologicalefficiencyandregionaldifferencesbecomesnecessary.ThispaperaimstoexaminetheeffectsoftourismindustryagglomerationontheecologicalefficiencyoftheCYRCC,whilealsoidentifyingtheregionaldifferenceswithinthecluster.
1.ConceptualizingEcologicalEfficiency:
Ecologicalefficiencyreferstothesustainableuseofnaturalresourcesandthereductionofnegativeimpactsontheenvironment.Itencompassesthebalancebetweeneconomicdevelopmentandenvironmentalpreservation.InthecontextoftheCYRCC,measuringecologicalefficiencyrequiresassessingthetourismindustry'simpactontheregion'senvironmentalquality,resourceutilization,andsustainabledevelopment.
