ThispaperfocusesontheretrofittingprocessoftheCENTUM-XLDistributedControlSystem(DCS)operatorstation.Itdiscussestheneedforretrofitting,thechallengesfacedduringtheretrofittingprocess,andthebenefitsandimprovementsthatcanbeachieved.Thepaperalsoprovidesastep-by-stepguideonhowtosuccessfullyretrofittheCENTUM-XLDCSoperatorstation.
1.Introduction
TheCENTUM-XLDCSoperatorstationisacriticalcomponentinindustrialcontrolsystems.Itprovidesoperatorswithreal-timeinformationandcontrolofvariousprocesseswithinaplant.However,withtheadvancementsintechnologyandtheneedforimprovedefficiencyandreliability,thereisagrowingdemandtoretrofitexistingDCSoperatorstationstoenhancetheirperformanceandcapabilities.
