Introduction:
Inrecentyears,environmentalpollutionhasbecomeamajorconcernworldwide.Theemissionofnitrogenoxides(NOx)fromvariousindustrialprocessesandvehicleshasresultedinseriousairpollutionandhealthproblems.Therefore,thereisanurgentneedtodevelopefficientandselectivecatalystsforthereductionofNOxemissions.Amongvariouscatalysts,V2O5/TiO2hasshowngreatpotentialduetoitshighactivityandselectivityintheselectivecatalyticreduction(SCR)process.ThispaperaimstoreviewtherecentresearchontheV2O5/TiO2catalystfortheselectivecatalyticreductionofNOx.
1.SynthesisofV2O5/TiO2Catalyst:
TheV2O5/TiO2catalystistypicallypreparedbyimpregnatingTiO2withvanadiumprecursorsolutions,followedbycalcination.Severalparameters,suchasthevanadiumloading,calcinationtemperature,andsupportstructure,haveasignificantinfluenceonthecatalyst'sactivityandselectivity.Thesynthesisprocessneedstobeoptimizedtoachievethedesiredperformance.
2.StructureandCharacterization:
ThestructureandphysicochemicalpropertiesoftheV2O5/TiO2catalystplayacrucialroleinitscatalyticperformance.Variouscharacterizationtechniques,suchasX-raydiffraction(XRD),scanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),transmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM),X-rayphotoelectronspectroscopy(XPS),andBrunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET)surfaceareaanalysis,areusedtoanalyzethecatalyst'sstructure,morphology,surfacearea,andchemicalcomposition.Thesecharacterizationsprovidevaluableinsightsintothecatalyst'spropertiesandhelpinunderstandingitscatalyticactivity.
3.NOxReductionMechanism:
TheselectivecatalyticreductionofNOxovertheV2O5/TiO2catalystinvolvesacomplexreactionmechanism.ThemainstepsincludeNOxadsorption,NH3adsorption,nitrateformation,andreductiontonitrogen.Theunderstandingofthesereactionstepsiscrucialforoptimizingthecatalyst'sperformanceandimprovingitsselectivitytowardsN2production.
