Abstract:
Weatherpredictionandanalysisplayacrucialroleinensuringthesafetyandwell-beingofsociety.Dopplerweatherradarsarewidelyusedformonitoringandtrackingprecipitation,whichprovidevaluablereflectivitydata.Thispaperproposesathree-dimensionalmodelingalgorithmthatutilizesDopplerweatherradarreflectivitydataforcreatingacomprehensiveandaccuraterepresentationoftheatmosphere.Thealgorithmcombinesdataprocessingtechniquesandvisualizationmethodstogenerateathree-dimensionalmodelthatcanaidinweatheranalysisandprediction.
1.Introduction
Weatherradarsystemsmeasurethebackscatteredsignalfromprecipitationintheatmosphere.Dopplerradarscandetectthemotionofprecipitationparticlesandprovideadditionalinformationaboutthestormdynamics.Traditionaltwo-dimensionalradarreflectivityimagesprovidevaluableinsightsintothespatialdistributionofprecipitation,butlackinformationaboutthedepthandverticalstructureofthestorm.Therefore,athree-dimensionalmodelingalgorithmisnecessarytocapturethecompletepictureoftheatmosphere.
2.DataPreprocessing
ThefirststepinthealgorithmistopreprocesstheDopplerradarreflectivitydata.Thisinvolvescalibratingtheradarmeasurements,removingartifactsandnoise,andcorrectingforattenuationcausedbytheinterveningmedium.Thesepreprocessingstepsensuretheaccuracyandintegrityofthedatabeforefurtheranalysis.
3.VolumetricReconstruction
Thenextstepistoreconstructthethree-dimensionalvolumeoftheatmosphereusingtheprocessedradarreflectivitydata.Thisisachievedthroughaprocesscalledvolumetricreconstruction.Thealgorithmusestheprincipleoftriangulationtoestimatethepositionandintensityofprecipitationparticlesatdifferentheights.Bycombiningthereflectivitydatafrommultipleradarscansandinterpolatingbetweenradarsamplepoints,athree-dimensionalgridofreflectivityvaluesiscreated.
