Abstract:
Photosensitivewastewater,generatedfromindustriessuchasprinting,photography,andelectronics,containshighconcentrationsoforganiccompoundsandheavymetals,makingitdifficulttotreatusingconventionalmethods.Thispaperproposesathree-stepoxidation-hydrolysisacidificationprocessasaneffectivetreatmentmethodforhigh-concentrationphotosensitivewastewater.Theprocessinvolvesthreestages:pre-oxidation,hydrolysisacidification,andbiologicaltreatment.Wediscusstheoperationalparameters,efficiency,andcost-effectivenessofthisprocess,highlightingitspotentialforindustrialapplication.
1.Introduction
Photosensitivewastewaterischaracterizedbyhighconcentrationsoforganiccompounds,includingphotochemicalagentssuchasdiazocompoundsandheavymetalslikesilverandchromium.Thesecompoundsposesignificantenvironmentalandhealthrisksifnotproperlytreatedbeforedischarge.Conventionaltreatmentprocesses,suchascoagulation,flocculation,andbiologicaltreatment,areoftenineffectiveduetothehighconcentrationandcomplexcompositionofthewastewater.Inthispaper,weproposeathree-stepoxidation-hydrolysisacidificationprocesstoaddressthechallengesassociatedwithtreatinghigh-concentrationphotosensitivewastewater.
2.Three-StepOxidation-HydrolysisAcidificationProcess
Thethree-stepprocesscomprisespre-oxidation,hydrolysisacidification,andbiologicaltreatment.Inthepre-oxidationstage,chemicaloxidantslikehydrogenperoxide(H2O2)orozone(O3)areaddedtothewastewatertobreakdowncomplexorganiccompoundsandremovecolor.Thisstepenhancesthesubsequenthydrolysisacidificationandpromotesthebiodegradabilityofthewastewater.ThehydrolysisacidificationstageinvolvesadjustingthepHtoanacidicrange(pH3-5)topromotethereleaseofsolubleorganicmatterandincreasetheefficiencyofsubsequentbiologicaltreatment.Finally,inthebiologicaltreatmentstage,activatedsludgeorotherbiologicalagentsareemployedtofurtherdegradetheorganiccompoundsandreduceth
