Abstract:
OrthogonalFrequencyDivisionMultiplexing(OFDM)hasbecomeawidelyusedmodulationtechniqueinmoderncommunicationsystemsduetoitshighdatarateandspectralefficiency.However,onecriticaldrawbackofOFDMisitshighPeak-to-AveragePowerRatio(PAPR),whichleadstopowerinefficiencyanddistortioninthetransmissionprocess.ThispaperproposesanovelmethodtoimprovethePAPRofOFDMsignalsbyutilizingacombinationofsignalshapingtechniquesandadvancedcodingschemes.Throughextensivesimulationsandanalysis,theeffectivenessandefficiencyoftheproposedmethodaredemonstrated.
1.Introduction
OFDMisamodulationtechniquethatdividesthefrequencyspectrumintomultipleorthogonalsubcarriers,enablingsimultaneoustransmissionofmultipledatasymbols.However,duetotheinherentnatureofthesuperpositionofthesubcarriers,OFDMsignalsexhibitahighPAPR,resultinginpowerinefficiencyandreducedtransmitterperformance.ThispaperpresentsanovelapproachtoreducethePAPRofOFDMsignals,enhancingtheoverallsystemefficiency.
2.BackgroundandRelatedWork
ThissectionprovidesacomprehensiveoverviewofexistingmethodsandtechniquesemployedtomitigatethePAPRissueinOFDMsystems.VariousschemessuchasClippingandFiltering,ToneReservation,SelectiveMapping,andPartialTransmitSequencearediscussed,highlightingtheiradvantagesandlimitations.TheneedforanewapproachthatcombinesmultipletechniquestoachieveimprovedPAPRreductionisemphasized.
3.ProposedMethod
Theproposedmethodconsistsoftwomaincomponents:signalshapingandcoding.SignalshapingtechniquesareusedtomodifytheamplitudeandphasepropertiesoftheOFDMsignaltoreduceitsenvelopefluctuations.ThecodingschemeisappliedtoexploittheredundancyinthesignalinordertoachievealowerPAPR.ThecombinationofthesetwocomponentsenablessignificantimprovementinthePAPRreduction.
