Introduction:
Withtheincreasingdemandfornaturalgasandthedepletionofonshoreresources,offshoreoilandgasfieldsplayasignificantroleinmeetingglobalenergyneeds.However,offshoredrillingoperationsoftenencounterlow-pressurenaturalgas,whichpresentschallengesintermsofextractionandutilization.Thispaperaimstoanalyzeandcomparetwolow-pressurenaturalgasrecoverytechnologies-FloatingProduction,Storage,andOffloading(FPSO)andSubseaGasCompression(SGC)-commonlyemployedinoffshoreoilandgasfields.
1.FloatingProduction,Storage,andOffloading(FPSO)Technology:
FPSOtechnologyiswidelyusedinoffshoreoilandgasfieldsfortheextraction,processing,andtransportationofhydrocarbons.Itoffersseveraladvantagesforlow-pressurenaturalgasrecovery.
a.GasRecovery:
FPSOsincorporategasprocessingfacilitiesthatenabletherecoveryoflow-pressurenaturalgas.Thisinvolvestheseparation,dehydration,andcompressionoftheextractedgas.Therecoveredgascanbeutilizedforpowergeneration,reinjection,orexporttomarketsthroughpipelinesorLNGcarriers.
