Abstract
Synchronousgeneratorsareacriticalcomponentinpowergenerationsystems,andanyfaultormalfunctioncancauseseveredisruptions.Onecommonfaultinsynchronousgeneratorsisthestatorwindingturn-to-turnshortcircuit,whichcanleadtosignificantdamageifnotdetectedandrepairedpromptly.Thispaperpresentsastudyonthediagnosisofstatorwindingturn-to-turnshortcircuitfaultsinsynchronousgenerators.Thepaperdiscussesthecausesofthistypeoffault,themethodsusedtodetectit,andthepossibleremedies.
Introduction
Synchronousgeneratorsarehighlyessentialinpowergenerationsystemsastheyprovidethenecessaryelectricalpowertomeetdifferentenergydemands.Likeanyothercomplexsystem,theyaresubjecttofaultsandmalfunctionsthatcanresultinsignificantdisruptions.Onecommonfaultisthestatorwindingturn-to-turnshortcircuit,whichcandisturbthegenerator'smagneticfield,causingsignificantdamagetothemachine'sinsulationandresultingindisruptedpoweroutput.
