Abstract:
Thispaperpresentsacomprehensiveanalysisoftheradiatedemissionissuesrelatedtothe20Hruleinfour-layerprintedcircuitboard(PCB)designs.The20Hruleemphasizestheneedforproperspacingbetweentracestominimizeunwantedelectromagneticradiation.Themaingoalofthisstudyistoinvestigatetheeffectivenessofthe20Hruleinreducingradiatedemissionsandtoproposepotentialsolutionstoimprovethedesignandperformanceoffour-layerPCBs.
1.Introduction:
Withtheincreasinguseofelectronicdevicesinvariousapplications,radiatedemissionhasbecomeamajorconcerninPCBdesign.Unwantedelectromagneticradiationcancauseinterferencewithnearbyelectronicdevices,leadingtoreducedsystemperformanceandreliability.The20Hrule,whichstatesthatthespacingbetweentracesshouldbeequaltoorgreaterthan20timesthetraceheight,iscommonlyfollowedtomitigateradiatedemissionissuesinPCBdesigns.
2.RadiatedEmissionMechanisms:
Radiatedemissioncanoccurduetovariousmechanisms,includinguncontrolledemissionfromsignaltraces,switchingnoisefromdigitalcircuits,andpowersupplynoise.Theseemissionscanbeminimizedbyproperlayouttechniques,shielding,andoptimizedcomponentplacement.The20Hruleprimarilyaddressestheuncontrolledemissionfromsignaltracesbyensuringadequatespacingbetweenthemtoreduceelectromagneticcoupling.
3.Effectsof20HRuleonRadiatedEmission:
