Synthesis,Characterization,andSpectroscopicAnalysisofPoly(Azo-Phenylene-Imine)
Abstract:
Poly(azo-phenylene-imine)isaclassofconjugatedpolymersknownfortheiruniqueopticalandelectronicproperties.Inthisstudy,wepresentacomprehensiveinvestigationofthesynthesis,characterization,andspectroscopicanalysisofpoly(azo-phenylene-imine).Thesynthesisprocessinvolvedthecondensationreactionofphenylenediisocyanatewithanilineinthepresenceofasuitablecatalyst.TheresultingpolymerwascharacterizedusingvarioustechniquesincludingFourier-transforminfraredspectroscopy(FT-IR),nuclearmagneticresonance(NMR),UV-Visspectroscopy,andgelpermeationchromatography(GPC).Theobtainedpolymerexhibitedexcellentsolubilityincommonorganicsolventsandwasfoundtohavegoodthermalstability.TheopticalpropertiesofthepolymerwereinvestigatedusingUV-Visspectroscopy,andtheresultsshowedthatitexhibitedstrongabsorptioninthevisibleregion,makingitanattractivecandidateforvariousoptoelectronicapplications.Additionally,theelectrochemicalpropertiesofthepolymerwereanalyzedusingcyclicvoltammetry(CV),revealingitspotentialasapromisingmaterialfororganicelectronics.Overall,thesynthesis,characterization,andspectroscopicanalysisofpoly(azo-phenylene-imine)presentedinthisstudyprovidevaluableinsightsintothedevelopmentandpotentialapplicationsofthisclassofconjugatedpolymers.
1.Introduction
Conjugatedpolymershaveattractedsignificantattentioninrecentyearsduetotheiruniqueopticalandelectronicproperties,whichmakethempromisingmaterialsforvariousapplicationsincludingorganicelectronics,solarcells,electronicsensors,andlight-emittingdevices.Amongthedifferenttypesofconjugatedpolymers,poly(azo-phenylene-imine)hasgainedconsiderableinterestbecauseofitsinterestingcombinationofaromaticityandazofunctionalgroups.
