Introduction: TheChengdaoOilfieldisoneofthelargestoilfieldsinChina,locatedintheBohaiSea.Theoil-waterseparationprocessattheCentralPlatformisacriticallinkintheproductionsystem.However,inefficienciesinthecurrentseparationsystemhavebeenidentified,leadingtodecreasedoilrecoveryratesandincreasedwatercontentintheproducedcrudeoil.Asaresult,theneedforeffectiveoil-waterseparationandenhancementtechnologiesisessentialtomaintainanoptimalproductionlevel. 1.AnalysisofCurrentOil-WaterSeparationTechnologies: 1.1Gravity-BasedSeparation: Gravity-basedseparationmethods,suchasconventionalsettlingtanksandhydrocyclones,havebeenwidelyusedintheoilandgasindustry.However,thesemethodsexhibitlimitations,suchaslowseparationefficiencyandhighenergyconsumption,makingthemlesssuitableforthespecificconditionsintheChengdaoOilfield. 1.2Coalescence-BasedSeparation: Coalescence-basedseparationtechnologies,includingelectrostaticcoalescersandchemicaldemulsifiers,haveshownpotentialsinenhancingoil-waterseparationefficiency.However,furtheroptimizationandexperimentalstudiesarerequiredtoadaptthesemethodstothecharacteristicsoftheChengdaoOilfield. 2.EnhancementTechnologiesforOil-WaterSeparation: 2.1Nanotechnology: Theapplicationofnanotechnologyinoil-waterseparationhasgainedconsiderableattentioninrecentyears.Advancedmaterials,suchasmembranes,nanoparticles,andnanocomposites,canimproveseparationefficiencybyenhancingoildropletcaptureandreducingfouling.Furtherresearchshouldfocusonthefabricationofnanomaterialssu
