Abstract
Inrecentyears,therehasbeenanincreasingdemandforautomatedglasssortingsystems,particularlyforthehandlingofflexibleglass.Thispaperproposesa3Dmachinevision-guidedflexibleglasssortingsystemthatutilizesadvancedcomputervisiontechniquesforaccuratedetectionandmanipulationofglassobjects.Wediscussthearchitectureoftheproposedsystemanddescribethekeycomponentsofthesystem,includingthevisionsubsystem,sortingsubsystem,andthecontrolsystem.Thesystem'sperformanceisevaluatedusingasetofexperimentalresults,whichdemonstrateitsefficiencyandeffectiveness.
Introduction
Flexibleglassisbecomingincreasinglypopularinvariousapplications,includingsmartphonescreens,wearabledevices,andflexibledisplays.However,thehandlingandmanipulationofflexibleglasscanbechallengingduetoitsfragilenature.Therefore,automatedglasssortingsystemsareinhighdemand,particularlyforindustrial-scaleoperations.Areliableandefficientsortingsystemisessentialformaintainingthequalityoftheglass,improvingproductionefficiency,andreducinglaborcosts.
Conventionalglasssortingsystemsarebasedonx-ray,infraredorlasertechnologies,whichareexpensive,complex,andnotsuitableforflexibleglass.3Dmachinevisionisincreasinglybeingadoptedforindustrialautomationapplicationsduetoitslowcost,highaccuracy,andeaseofuse.Therefore,weproposea3Dmachinevision-guidedflexibleglasssortingsystemthatutilizescomputervisiontechniquesfordetectionandmanipulationofglassobjects.
Methodology
Theproposedsystemconsistsofthreemainsubsystems:thevisionsubsystem,thesortingsubsystem,andthecontrolsystem.Thevisionsubsystemcapturesthe3Dpointclouddataoftheglassobjectsusingastereocamerasetup.Thepointclouddataisprocessedtoextracttheglassobject'sfeatures,suchasdimensions,surfacearea,andcurvature.
Thesortingsubsystemconsistsofaroboticarmandagripperthatarecontrolledbyaservomotor.Thearmandgripperaredesignedtopickandsorttheglassobjectsbasedontheirfeatures,asdeterminedbythevisionsubsystem.Thegripperisdesignedtohandlethefragilenatureofflexibleglassandensurethattheobject
