Sincetheendoflastcentury,theissueofcorruptionhasbecomeaseriousproblemandurgenttobesolved.LargeamountsofanticorruptioncampaignshavebeenpromulgatedorarebeingpromulgatedbyvariouscountriesintheworldandChinaisnoexception.Moreandmorepeoplearebecomingconsciousofthedeleteriousconsequencesbroughtbybriberyandextortionandwillingtodotheirbitinanticorruptionendeavors.Butwhatindeeditisthatcorruptionbringstous?
Corruptionhasmuchbadinfluenceinmanyaspects.First,itdistortsmarketsandcompetition.Today’ssocietyisanopen,freeandfairsocietyandmarketsareavailabletoeveryone,inwhichyouhavelotsofopportunitiestoachieveyourgoalsaslongasyouhavetheabilities.That’scalledbenigncompetition.Butoncemixedwithcorruption,themarketisnolongerthatfairasitannounced.Opportunitiesthenarenotopentoeveryoneimpartially,butpriortosomespecificalpeoplefirst.Sowecanseethatcorruptionbetraysthespiritoffairmarketsandcompetitionsandseverelydistortstheirorders.Second,asismentionedabove,corruptioncanbreedcynicismamongcitizen.Ifopportunitiesisnotfairtoeveryone,theremustbesomepeoplethatfeelaggrieveandresentfultotheenvironmentandeventothewholesociety,whichalsounderminestheruleoflaw,damagesgovernmentlegitimacyandisnotgoodforsocialstability.Corruptionobviouslydoharmtoourcountry.Ifallowedproceedunchecked,theissuewillundoubtedbemoreadmorerampantandultimatelybecomeuncontrolled,whichwillfinallyleadacountrytoanend.
Fromwhathavebeenmentionedabove,itisthereforenecessarythatsomeeffectivemeasuresaretakentopreventcorruption.Governmentshouldlaunchmoreanticorruptioncampaigns,toenhancepublicawarenessandcommitmenttocombatinggraftandcurbingcorruption.Governmentalsoshouldreinforcethemomentumoftheanticorruptiondriveandshownomercytothecorruptofficials.Onlyinthisway,corruptionwillbecontrolledandwon’tbesorampantasitisnow.
