第一篇：文化交流-德国GermancultureGermanyisacountryinWesternEurope.ItisborderedtothenorthbytheNorthSea,Denmark,andtheBalticSea;totheeastbyPolandandtheCzechRepublic;tothesouthbyAustriaandSwitzerland;andtothewestbyFrance,Luxembourg,Belgium,andtheNetherlands.TheterritoryofGermanycovers357.021km2andisinfluencedbyatemperateseasonalclimate.With81.8millioninhabitants,itisthemostpopulousmemberstateoftheEuropeanUnion,andhometothethird-largestnumberofinternationalmigrantsworldwide.AregionnamedGermania（TheEnglishword“Germany”derivesfromtheLatinwordGermania.Thename“Germania”cameintouseafterJuliusCaesaradopteditfromaGallictermforthepeopleseastoftheRhinethatcouldpossiblyhavemeant“neighbour”,or“menofforests”,oreven“menwithspears”）,inhabitedbyseveralGermanicpeoples,wasdocumentedbeforeAD100.Beginninginthe10thcentury,GermanterritoriesformedacentralpartoftheHolyRomanEmpire,whichlasteduntil1806.Duringthe16thcentury,northernGermanybecamethecentreoftheProtestantReformation.Asamodernnation-state,thecountrywasfirstunifiedamidsttheFranco-PrussianWarin1871.AfterWorldWarII,Germanywaspidedin1949intotwoseparatestates—EastGermanyandWestGermany—alongthelinesofAlliedoccupation.Germanywasreunifiedin1990.WestGermanywasafoundingmemberoftheEuropeanCommunityin1957,whichbecametheEuropeanUnionin1993.ItispartoftheSchengenAreaandadoptedtheeuroin1999.Germanyisafederalparliamentaryrepublicofsixteenstates.ThecapitalandlargestcityisBerlin.GermanyisamemberoftheUnitedNations,NATO,theG8,theG20,andtheOECD.Itisamajorpowerwiththeworld'sfourthlargesteconomybynominalGDPandthefifthlargestinpurchasingpowerparity.Itisthesecondlargestexporterandthirdlargestimporterofgoodsintheworld.Inabsoluteterms,Germanyhasthethirdbiggestannualdevelopmentaidbudgetintheworld,whileitsmilitaryexpenditurerankedseventh.Thecountryhasdevelopedahighstandardoflivingandacomprehensivesystemofsocialsecurity.ItholdsakeypositioninEuropeanaffairsandmaintainsamultitudeofclosepartnershipsonagloballevel.Germanyisrecognisedasascientificandtechnologicalleade
