第一篇:马丁路德金英文作文MartinLutherKingwasbornonJanuary15,1929inAtlanta.Hisfatherwastheminister,aswashisfatherbeforehim“M.L,”ashewascalled,livedwithhisparents,hissisterandbrotherinAtlanta.TheirhomewasnotfarfromthechurchandfathertaughttheirchildrenwhatwouldbecomeanimportantpartofMartinLuther’slife—totreatallpeoplewithrespect.Martin’sfatherworkedhardtobreakdownthebarriersbetweentheraces.HisfatherbelievedAfrican-Americansshouldregistertheircomplaintsbyvoting.AsM.L.grewuphefoundthatnoteveryonefollowedhisparents’principles.Henoticedthat“black”peopleandwhitepeopleweretreateddifferently.Hesawthatheandhiswhitefriendscouldnotdrinkfromthesamewaterandcouldnotusethesamewashrooms.M.L.’sbestfriendasachildwasawhiteboyandaschildrentheyplayedhappilytogether.Butwhentheyreachedschoolagethefriendsfoundthateventhoughtheylivedinthesamecommunity,theycouldnotgotothesameschool.M.L.’sfriendwouldgotoaschoolforwhitechildrenonlyandM.L.wassenttoaschoolfor“black”children.Aftertheywenttoschool,theydidn’tplaytogetheragain.WhenM.L.wasreadyforcollegehedecidedtofollowhisfatherandbecomeaminister.Whileheatschool,hewasinspiredbytheworkofHenryDavidThoreau,CivilDisobedience.Itstatedthatifenoughpeoplewouldfollowtheirconscienceanddisobeyunjustlaws.Theycouldbringaboutapeacefulrevolution.MartinLutherKing,Jr.wouldnowbeaddressedas“Dr.King”.Dr.KingtookpartinthecivilrightsmovementbeganwiththearrestofMrs.RosaParks,wasarrestedfornotgivingawhitebusriderherseat,Mrs.ParkswasnotthefirstAfrican-Americantobearrestedforthis“crime”,butshewaswellknownintheAfrican-Americancommunity.Dr.KingandtheotherAfrican-Americanleadersfeltaprotestwasneeded.TheAfrican-Americansofthecitywereaskedtoboycottthebuscompanybywalkinganddrivinginstead.TheUnitedStatesSupremeCourtwouldendtheboycott,whichlasted381days,bydeclaringthatAlabama’sstateandsegregationonbuseswereillegal.TheboycottwasasuccessandDr.Kinghadshowedthatpeacefulmassactioncouldbringaboutchange.InApril1968Dr.KingwenttoTennesseetohelptheworkerswhowereonstrike.OnApril3rdDr.Kingwouldgiv
