Background:
Therapidglobalizationoftheworldhasledtoanincreaseddemandforthetranslationoflegaldocumentsfromonelanguagetoanother.Thisisparticularlyevidentinthefieldofinternationallaw,wherelegaltextsneedtobetranslatedaccuratelytoensurethattheyareunderstoodcorrectlyandcanbeimplementedeffectively.Despitetheimportanceofaccuratetranslation,thereisalackofresearchonthetranslationpracticesofinternationallegaltextsfromEnglishtoChinese.ThisstudyaimstofillthisgapbyanalyzingthedifferentapproachesusedbytranslatorswhentranslatinginternationallegaltextsfromEnglishtoChinese.
Objectives:
Theobjectivesofthisstudyare:
1.ToidentifythechallengesfacedbytranslatorswhentranslatinginternationallegaltextsfromEnglishtoChinese.
2.ToanalyzethedifferenttranslationapproachesusedbytranslatorsinthetranslationofinternationallegaltextsfromEnglishtoChinese.
3.ToevaluatetheaccuracyofthetranslationofinternationallegaltextsfromEnglishtoChinese.
Methodology:
ThisstudywilluseaqualitativeresearchmethodtoanalyzethedifferenttranslationpracticesusedbytranslatorswhentranslatinginternationallegaltextsfromEnglishtoChinese.Datawillbecollectedfromarangeofsources,includingpublishedtranslationsofinternationallegaltexts,interviewswithpracticingtranslators,andaquestionnairedistributedtotranslationprofessionals.Thedatawillbeanalyzedusingcontentanalysis,whichinvolvestheidentificationofthemesandpatternswithinthedata.
ExpectedOutcomes:
ThisstudyisexpectedtoidentifythechallengesfacedbytranslatorswhentranslatinginternationallegaltextsfromEnglishtoChinese.Itisalsoexpectedtoprovideinsightsintothedifferentapproachesusedbytranslators,aswellastheaccuracyofthetranslationofinternationallegaltextsfromEnglishtoChinese.Thefindingsofthisstudywillbebeneficialtotranslationprofessionals,academics,andpolicymakers,astheywillprovideadeeperunderstandingofthetranslationpracticesusedinthefieldofinternationallaw.Thisstudywillalsocontributetot
