Introduction: Suprasegmentalphonemes,alsoknownasprosodicfeatures,playacrucialroleinspokenlanguagecomprehensionandcommunication.However,Englishlearners,especiallyvocationalcollegeEnglishmajors,oftenmakeerrorsinsuprasegmentalphonemesduetovariousfactorssuchasdifferencesinnativelanguagephonologyandlimitedexposuretoauthenticEnglishspeech.Theseerrorscannegativelyaffecttheiroverallcommunicationskills.Therefore,itisimportanttoanalyzetheerrorsmadebyvocationalcollegeEnglishmajorsinsuprasegmentalphonemesandproposeeffectiveteachingstrategiestoaddresstheseerrors. AnalysisofErrorsinSuprasegmentalPhonemes: 1.StressErrors: Stresserrorsrefertomisplacingtheaccentoremphasisonsyllablesorwords.ManyvocationalcollegeEnglishmajorsoftenneglectormisplacestress,leadingtocommunicationdifficultiesandmisunderstandings.Commonerrorsincludestressonthewrongsyllable,failuretodifferentiatebetweencontentwordsandfunctionwords,andincorrectplacementofsentencestress. 2.IntonationErrors: Intonationerrorsinvolveerrorsinpitch,tone,andrisingorfallingpatternsinspeech.VocationalcollegeEnglishmajorsoftenstrugglewithintonation,resultinginmonotonousspeechorinappropriateintonation,whichcanleadtomisinterpretationorlackofclarity.Commonerrorsincludeincorrectplacementofsentencestress,lackofrisingorfallingintonation,andfailuretoexpressemotionsthroughintonation. 3
