本课是九年级第四单元第三话题的第一课时。主活动是1a和2。1a通过Michael与Kangkang参观科技博物馆时的对话引出话题：中国航天事业的发展。除了引出话题，还引出了语法：定语从句。1b属于简单的听音找词训练，主要是训练学生听取特定信息的能力。1c过渡到对1a的理解，是考查学生的阅读能力。2是为了突破本课的语法，让学生通过观察来习得语法知识，而不是通过老师填鸭式的灌输。
