《电子专业英语》教学改革探讨
Withtherapiddevelopmentoftechnologyandglobalization,electronicengineeringhasbecomeanindispensablepartofourmodernsociety.TheteachingofelectronicspecialtyEnglishhasbecomeincreasinglyimportantforstudentsmajoringinelectronics.Inrecentyears,therehavebeendiscussionsandexplorationsonhowtoreformtheteachingmethodsofelectronicspecialtyEnglish,whichisnecessarytoimprovethequalityandpracticalskillsofstudents.
ThetraditionalteachingmethodofelectronicspecialtyEnglishmainlyfocusesontheknowledgeandvocabulary.Theteachergiveslecturesinaconventionalway,andthestudentsarerequiredtomemorizethosecontents.Thisteachingmethodhasitslimitations,whichincludesalackofinteractionbetweentheteacherandstudentsandaninsufficientemphasisoncommunicationskills.
Inordertoimprovethequalityofteaching,itisnecessarytoreformtheteachingmethodsofelectronicspecialtyEnglish.Thefollowingstrategiescouldbeconsidered:
Firstly,thecommunicativeapproachshouldbeadopted.Insteadofsolelyemphasizingknowledgeandvocabulary,teachersshouldencouragestudentstocommunicateinEnglishanduseEnglishindailylife.Activitiessuchasgroupdiscussions,presentations,debates,androle-playingcouldbeusedtopromotecommunicationandinteractionbetweenteachersandstudents.
Secondly,real-lifescenariosshouldbeintroduced.Sinceelectronicsplayanessentialroleinmanyareassuchasmedicalequipment,communication,andtransportation,teachersshouldexposestudentstopracticalelectronics-relatedscenarios.Thiswouldenablestudentstounderstandthecontextsanduselanguagemoreaccurately,whichismoreeffectivethanmemorizingabstractvocabulary.
Thirdly,multimediaandtechnologyshouldbeintegrated.AstheteachingofforeignlanguagesisbasedonthefundamentalprinciplethatstudentshouldbeexposedtoasmuchEnglishaspossible,teachersshouldusemultimediaresources,suchasvideos,audios,andcomputersoftware,toenrichthecoursecontent.Thesemultimediaresourcescouldhelpsimulatereal-lifesituationsandimprovestudents’listeningandspeakingskills.
