RandomDelayAnalysisofInternetofThingsBasedonLTENetwork
WiththerapiddevelopmentoftheInternetofThings(IoT)technology,therequirementforreliableandefficientcommunicationhasbecomeincreasinglyessential.LongTermEvolution(LTE)hasemergedasapromisingtechnologyforprovidinguninterruptedandhigh-speedcommunicationservicesforIoTdevices.However,therandomdelayissueintheapplicationofLTEnetworktoIoTstillhindersitsfullpotential.
ThispaperdiscussestherandomdelayprobleminLTE-basedIoTapplicationsandanalyzesthecausesandimpactoftheissue.Therandomdelaycanbecausedbyvariousfactors,suchaschannelinterference,resourceallocation,andtransmissionprotocol.ItisknownthatLTEnetworksaredesignedmainlyforlargedatatransmission;hence,smallpacketcommunicationbecameachallenge.Insuchascenario,thenetworkmayexperienceservicedelaysthathavesignificantimpactIoTdevicesinmission-criticalapplications.
Inaddition,theanalysisoftherandomdelayrevealsthatitcanhaveadetrimentalimpactontheoverallperformanceoftheIoTnetworkbyincreasingthepowerconsumptionandcommunicationoverhead.Thedelaymaypreventcertaindevicesfromcompletingtheirtasks,andthisadverselyaffectssystemefficiency.Thisfactstressestheurgentneedforbettercommunicationprotocolsthatcanaddresstherandomdelayissue.
Tomitigatetherandomdelayissue,severalsolutionscanbeconsidered.Oneofthemistoimplementefficientchannelresourceallocationtechniquesthatcanensurefairandreliableschedulingofdatatransmission.Moreover,IoTdevicescanalsoutilizeadaptivemodulationandcodingschemestoadjustthetransmissionratebasedonthechannelquality.Itcanreducepacketdelaybyselectingtheoptimaltransmissionrate.Besides,trafficprioritizationcanbeconsideredtoensureurgentpacketsareservedwithhighpriority,reducingthedelaycausedbynon-criticaltraffic.
Inconclusion,LTEhassignificantbenefitsforIoTdeviceswithitshigh-speed,quality,stabletransmission,andotherproperties.However,therandomdelayissuemustbeaddressedforthefullpotentialofLTE-basedIoTtoberealized.Technologicalimprovementssuchasefficientresourceall
