Abstract:
Withtherapidadvancementofwirelesscommunicationsystems,LongTermEvolution(LTE)hasemergedasthekeystandardfor4Gmobilenetworks.LTEusesPhysicalBroadcastChannel(PBCH)fortransmittingimportantsysteminformationtoalluserequipment(UE)withinitscoveragearea.TheblinddetectionofPBCHchannelplaysacrucialroleinensuringreliableservicesandseamlessconnectivity.ThispaperpresentsacomprehensivereviewofblinddetectionschemesforthePBCHchannel,alongwiththeiradvantagesandlimitations.Furthermore,anovelblinddetectionschemeisproposed,aimingtoenhancetheperformanceandreliabilityofPBCHchanneldetectioninLTEsystems.
Introduction:
LongTermEvolution(LTE)representsasignificantmilestoneinwirelesscommunicationsystemsbyofferinghigh-speeddatatransmission,lowlatency,andimprovedcoverage.ThePhysicalBroadcastChannel(PBCH)isanessentialcomponentofLTE,responsibleforbroadcastingsysteminformation,suchascellID,bandwidth,andsynchronizationsignals.AccuratedetectionofthePBCHchanneliscriticalforseamlesshandovers,decodingsysteminformation,andensuringstableconnectivity.
ExistingBlindDetectionSchemesforPBCHChannel:
1.Cross-CorrelationMethod:
Thecross-correlation-basedmethodusesaknownsynchronizationsequencetocorrelatewiththereceivedsignaltodetectthePBCHchannel.Thisapproachoffersgooddetectionperformancebutrequirespriorknowledgeofthesynchronizationsequence,whichlimitsitsapplicabilityinscenarioswithunknownorrandomsynchronizationsequences.
2.EnergyDetector:
Theenergydetectormeasurestheenergylevelofthereceivedsignalandcomparesitwithapredefinedthreshold.Iftheenergylevelexceedsthethreshold,thepresenceofthePBCHchannelisidentified.Thisschemeissimpleandcomputationallyefficient,butitsperformancesuffersinthepresenceofnoiseorinterference.
3.CyclostationaryFeatureDetector:
ThecyclostationaryfeaturedetectorexploitstheinherentcyclostationarycharacteristicsofthePBCHsignaltodifferentiateitfromothersignals.ThismethodachievesgoodperformanceindetectingthePBCHchannelbutre
