Introduction
Delphiisahigh-levelprogramminglanguageandanintegrateddevelopmentenvironmentdesignedforproducingWindows-basedapplications.ItwasfirstintroducedbyBorlandin1995andsincethenithasbeenwidelyusedfordevelopingavarietyofapplicationsincludingimageprocessingsystems.Thepurposeofthispaperistooutlinethedesignandimplementationofasmall-scaleimageprocessingsystemdevelopedwithDelphi.
ImageProcessingSystemDesign
TheimageprocessingsystemdevelopedinDelphicanperformbasicimageprocessingtaskssuchasresizing,cropping,andadjustingbrightnessandcontrast.Thesystemconsistsofauser-friendlyinterfacewithamenubar,toolbars,andpanelsthatallowuserstoload,save,andmanipulateimages.
Theuserinterfaceofthesystemisdividedintoseveralcomponents:menubar,toolbars,andpanels.Themenubarprovidesuserswithoptionstoload,save,andeditimages,whilethetoolbarsincludebuttonsforperformingspecificimage-processingtaskssuchascroppingandresizing.Finally,thepanelsareusedtodisplaytheimageandtheprocessingresultstotheuser.
ThesystemisdesignedtoloadcommonlyusedimageformatssuchasBMP,JPEG,andPNG.Oncetheimageisloaded,thesystemdisplaysittotheuserinapanel.
Inordertomodifytheimage,thesystemprovidesuserswithoptionstoperformbasicoperationssuchasresizing,cropping,andadjustingbrightnessandcontrast.Theresizingfunctionallowsuserstochangethesizeoftheimagewhilethecroppingfunctionenablesuserstoselectaspecificpartoftheimageforfurtherprocessing.Additionally,thebrightnessandcontrastfunctionsallowuserstoadjustthebrightnessandcontrastoftheimagetotheirpreference.
ImageProcessingSystemImplementation
TheimplementationoftheDelphi-basedimageprocessingsysteminvolvesseveralkeycomponentsincludingimageloading,imageprocessing,anduserinterfacedevelopment.
TheimageloadingfunctionalityisimplementedusingDelphi'sbuilt-ingraphicslibrary.ThislibraryisdesignedtoloadandprocessimagesinavarietyofformatsincludingBMP,JPEG,andPNG.Oncetheimagehasbeenloadedintothelibrary,itisdisplayedtotheuserinapanel.
