Nowadays,chemicalindustryisoneofthemostimportantanddynamicareasofscienceandtechnology,withsignificantimpactsonnumerousfields,includingmedicine,energy,agriculture,andenvironmentalprotection.Aschemicalengineeringeducationrepresentsacriticalelementinshapingthefutureofthisfield,itisessentialtoensurethatchemicalengineeringstudentsobtaincomprehensiveknowledgeandskillsinboththeoreticalandpracticalaspectsofthisprofession.Thus,thepurposeofthispaperistoprovideapreliminaryinvestigationintotheteachinginnovationinthedomainofchemicalengineeringEnglish.
Background
ChemicalengineeringEnglishisanessentialcomponentofchemicalengineeringeducation.ItinvolvestheuseofEnglishlanguageskills,suchasreading,writing,listening,andspeaking,tounderstandandcommunicateabouttechnicalinformationrelatedtochemicalengineering.SomeofthemostcommonareasofchemicalengineeringEnglishincludeprocessdesign,equipmentselection,safetyprotocols,experimentation,dataanalysis,andscientificdocumentation.
WhiletheimportanceofchemicalengineeringEnglishinchemicalengineeringeducationisclear,traditionalteachingmethodsmaynotbeentirelyeffectiveinfosteringstudents'proficiencyinthelanguage.Forexample,asignificantportionoftheteachingmaterialsusedinchemicalengineeringEnglishcoursesisoftentheoreticalandabstract,focusingongrammarandsyntaxratherthanonpracticalskills.Moreover,students'exposuretoEnglishlanguageusageoutsideoftheclassroommaybelimited,thushamperingtheirabilitytoapplythelanguageinreal-worldsituations.
