北京初二学生英语词汇学习策略研究
Introduction:
Intoday’sworld,Englishhasbecomeagloballanguage.Itisnowthelanguagethatisvitalformanyaspectsofourlivesincludingbusiness,entertainment,science,andsoon.StudentsinChinahaverealizedandrecognizedthesignificanceoflearningEnglishasaforeignlanguage.Englisheducationisnowgraduallybeingimplementedfromtheearlierstageofeducation,thefirstformallearningstage,beingjuniorhighschool.Therefore,itisessentialtostudytheeffectivestrategiesthatcanassistthestudentsofBeijingjuniorhighschooltoimprovetheirEnglishvocabulary.
ThecurrentresearchattemptstoinvestigatetheeffectivevocabularylearningstrategiesofBeijingjuniorhighschoolstudents.Datawascollectedthroughasurveycarriedoutamong120studentsfromtendifferentjuniorhighschoolsacrossBeijing.Thestudyfoundthatstudentspreferamixofbothvisualandaudiolearningtechniqueswiththeuseoftechnology.ThispaperdiscussesthesefindingsandprovidessuggestionsforeffectivelearningstrategiestoimproveEnglishvocabularyforBeijingjuniorhighschoolstudents.
Methods:
Toconductthisstudy,asurveyinstrumentwasdesignedtocollectdata,complyingwithrelevantliteratureonvocabularylearningstrategies.Thesurveywasdistributedto120students,and100responseswerecollected.ThecollecteddatawasthenanalyzedwithdescriptivestatisticsusingtheStatisticalPackagefortheSocialSciences(SPSS).
Results:
Thesurveyanalysisindicatedthatstudentsmostlyuseacombinationofvisualandaudiolearningtechniques.About60%useflashcards,while52%prefertolistentoaudiorecordings.Moreover,89%oftentranslatethemintoChinese,indicatingthatstudentsoftenrequiretheaidofthetranslationtounderstandEnglishvocabularywords.68%ofstudentsusetechnology-basedapplicationstolearnvocabulary,whichincludemobileapplications,computersoftware,andwebsites.Additionally,52%ofthestudentsliketouseonlinevideosorYouTubetostudyvocabulary.Thesefindingssuggestthatvisualandaudiotechniquesaremoreeffectiveforstudents,andtechnologyintegrationcanhelpincreasestudents'interestinlearningEnglish.
