Abstract:
Translationplaysacrucialroleinfacilitatingglobalcommunication,particularlyinthefieldofmedicinewhereaccuracyisofutmostimportance.However,achievingequivalenceinmedicaltranslationcanbechallengingduetothecomplexityofmedicalterminologyandtheneedtoconveyprecisemeanings.ThisstudyaimstoexplorevariousmethodsofassessingequivalenceinmedicalEnglishtranslationandtoidentifyeffectivestrategiestoimprovethequalityoftranslatedmedicaltexts.
Introduction:
Translationinthemedicalfieldrequiresnotonlylinguisticproficiencybutalsoadeepunderstandingofmedicalconceptsandterminology.Theobjectiveofmedicaltranslationistoensurethatthetargettextaccuratelyconveysthesamemeaningasthesourcetext.However,achievingtrueequivalenceposesasignificantchallengeformedicaltranslatorsduetotheinherentcultural,linguistic,andtechnicaldifferencesbetweenlanguages.Hence,theneedtodevelopeffectivestrategiestoassessequivalenceinmedicalEnglishtranslationisofutmostimportance.
