Abstract:
Translationisacomplextaskthatinvolvestransferringasourcetextfromonelanguagetoanother.Itrequiresathoroughunderstandingofboththesourcecultureandthetargetculture.Inthisstudy,weexploretheEnglishtranslationofLiBai'spoetryfromtheperspectiveofStanine'stranslationtheory.Stanine'stheoryemphasizestheimportanceofculturalandlinguisticelementsintranslation.ThroughanalyzingseveralEnglishtranslationsofLiBai'spoetry,weaimtoidentifythechallengesandstrategiesintranslatingLiBai'spoetryandofferinsightsintoachievingsuccessfultranslations.
1.Introduction
LiBai,oneofthegreatestpoetsinChinesehistory,isknownforhislyricalandimaginativepoetry.HisworksaredeeplyrootedinChineseculture,language,andhistory,makingitachallengingtaskfortranslatorstocapturetheessenceandbeautyofhispoetryinEnglish.Stanine'stranslationtheoryprovidesavaluablelenstoanalyzethetranslationofLiBai'spoetry.
