Withthefastdevelopmentofthetourismindustryaroundtheworld,tourismEnglishhasbecomeincreasinglyimportantasatoolforcommunicationintheindustry.Thetourismindustryreliesheavilyoneffectivecommunicationbetweentravelersandprovidersoftourismservices.TourismEnglishhasbecomeoneofthemostwidelyusedlanguagesintheindustryasitisacommonlanguagespokenbypeoplefromdifferentpartsoftheworld.ThepurposeofthispaperistoexploretheteachingofTourismEnglishfromaperspectiveofcognitivelinguistics.

Cognitivelinguisticsisafieldofstudythatfocusesontherelationshipbetweenlanguageandthemind.Itexploreshowthebrainprocesseslanguageandhowspeakersofdifferentlanguagesconceptualizetheworldaroundthem.TheprinciplesofcognitivelinguisticscanbeappliedtotheteachingofTourismEnglishtoenhancelearners’understandingandacquisitionofthelanguage.
