英语教材中的被动语态教学——基于语块理论的语法教学研究 Introduction AsoneofthekeygrammaticalconceptsinEnglish,thepassivevoicehaslongbeenafocusofgrammareducation.ItiswidelyusedinvariousEnglishcontexts,butitsusageisoftenconfusingfornon-nativespeakers.Therefore,itisimperativethatEnglishteachingprovideseffectivemethodsandstrategiestohelpstudentsmasterthisconcept.Inthispaper,IwouldliketoexploretheteachingofpassivevoiceinEnglishtextbooksfromtheperspectiveofchunkingtheoryandproposesomepracticalsuggestionsforimprovingEnglishgrammarteaching. Background Thetraditionalapproachtogrammarteachingtendstofocusonrule-basedlearning,whichemphasizestheformalrulesandstructuresoflanguage,oftenattheexpenseofauthenticlanguageuse.However,suchanapproachhasbeencriticizedforbeingineffectiveindevelopingstudents'communicativecompetence,asitdoesnotreflectthenaturalacquisitionprocessoflanguage.Instead,scholarshavesuggestedthatlanguageisbetteracquiredthroughmeaningfulcommunicationandthelearningofchunksorcollocations,whicharefixedandmulti-wordunitsoflanguagethatarestoredinthebrainasasingleentity. Methodology ThedataanalyzedinthispapercomesfromananalysisofthreepassivevoicegrammartextbooksthatarecommonlyusedinEnglishlanguageclassrooms.Basedonthechunkingtheory,thetextbooksareevaluatedtoidentifytheextenttowhichtheyincorporatechunksintheirteachingofpassivevoice.Theevaluationisbasedonthreecriteria:thefrequencyofchunksused,theirlevelofdifficulty,andtheauthenticityoftheirrelationshiptoreal-lifesituations. ResultsandDiscussion Theresultsoftheanalysisindicatethatthetextbooksanalyzeddonotsufficientlyincorporatechunksintheirteachingofpassivevoice.Thebookstendtofocusontherulesandstructuresofpassivevoice,ratherthanemphasizingtheuseofchunks.Furthermore,theuseofchunksinthetextbooksislimitedtobasicsentencestructuresanddoesnotreflectthecomplexityanddiversityofpassivevoiceusageinreal-lifesituations.
