EnglishtranslationisanessentialpartofEnglishlanguagelearning.However,manysecondlanguagelearnersstillencounterdifficultiesduringtheprocessoftranslatingbetweenEnglishandtheirnativelanguages.ThispaperaimstoanalyzethecommonerrorsmadebyEnglishsecondlanguagestudentswhentranslatinganddiscusstheteachingimplicationsforEnglishtranslation.

1.GrammaticalErrors:ThefirstandmostcommonerrormadebyEnglishsecondlanguagestudentsisgrammaticalerrors.Theyoftentranslateidiomaticexpressionsorphraseswordforwordandignorethegrammaticalrulesofboththesourceandtargetlanguages.Thisresultsinawkwardsentencestructure,incorrecttenseusage,andsubject-verbagreementissues.
