Title:AFeasibilityStudyofMetacognitiveStrategyTraininginEnglishReadingforVocationalCollegeStudents
Introduction:
Englishreadingcomprehensionisacrucialskillforvocationalcollegestudents,asitisessentialfortheiracademicsuccessandfuturecareerprospects.However,manyvocationalcollegestudentsoftenstrugglewithunderstandingandcomprehendingEnglishtextsduetovariousfactorssuchaslimitedexposuretoEnglishlanguageenvironmentsandinsufficientEnglishreadingstrategies.Asaresult,itisimperativetoinvestigatethefeasibilityofmetacognitivestrategytraininginEnglishreadingtoenhancestudents'readingcomprehensionabilities.
Objective:
TheobjectiveofthisstudyistoexaminethefeasibilityofmetacognitivestrategytraininginEnglishreadingamongvocationalcollegestudents.Specifically,theresearchaimstoexploretheeffectivenessofmetacognitivestrategytraininginimprovingstudents'readingcomprehensionskillsandtheirattitudestowardsEnglishreading.
Methodology:
1.SampleSelection:Arepresentativesampleofvocationalcollegestudentswillbeselectedforthestudy.Thesamplewillincludestudentsfromdifferentprogramsandeducationalbackgroundstoensurediversity.
2.Pre-test:Beforethetrainingprogram,participantswillbetestedtoassesstheircurrentreadingcomprehensionabilitiesusingastandardizedEnglishreadingcomprehensiontest.Additionally,attitudinalsurveyswillbeconductedtogatherinformationonstudents'attitudestowardsEnglishreading.
3.TrainingProgram:AmetacognitivestrategytrainingprogramwillbedevelopedbasedonestablishedtheoriesandpreviousresearchonEnglishreadingcomprehension.Theprogramwillfocusonteachingstudentsvariousmetacognitivestrategiessuchaspreviewing,predicting,summarizing,andself-monitoring.
4.Implementation:Thetrainingprogramwillbeimplementedoveradesignatedperiod,withaseriesoflessonsdeliveredbytrainedinstructors.Theinstructionwillincludeexplicitteachingofeachmetacognitivestrategy,guidedpracticeexercises,andindependentpracticeopportunities.
