Introduction:
Thepoultryindustryisofgreatimportanceworldwide,providingasignificantsourceoffoodandincome.However,onemajorconcerninpoultryfarmingisthehighlevelsofdustgeneratedwithinthechickenhouses.Theseairborneparticlesincludefeathers,excreta,feed,anddander,allofwhichcontributetotheoveralldustconcentration.Highdustconcentrationsposeaseriousthreattoboththehealthofthechickensandtheworkers,aswellasaffectingtheoverallproductivityandprofitabilityofthefarm.Therefore,thedevelopmentofadustconcentrationmonitoringsystemforpoultryhousesisofutmostimportance.
Objective:
Theobjectiveofthisresearchistodeveloparobustandefficientdustconcentrationmonitoringsystemspecificallydesignedforpoultryhouses.Thesystemwillprovidereal-timemonitoringofdustlevels,allowingforearlydetectionofhighconcentrationsandappropriatepreventivemeasures.
Methodology:
1.SensorSelection:Thefirststepindevelopingthemonitoringsystemistoselecttheappropriatesensorsfordustconcentrationmeasurement.Varioussensors,suchasopticalparticlecountersandlaserdustdetectors,areavailableonthemarket.Theselectedsensorsmustbeabletoaccuratelyandconsistentlymeasuredustparticleswithinthepoultryhouseenvironment.
2.SystemDesign:Oncethesensorsarechosen,thesystemdesignwillbedeveloped.Thiswillinvolvedesigningthecircuitry,microcontrollerintegration,andcommunicationinterfaces.Thesystemwillbedesignedtocollectdatacontinuouslyandtransmitittoacentralmonitoringstation.
3.Calibration:Calibrationofthechosensensorsiscrucialtoensuringaccuratemeasurements.Laboratoryexperimentswillbeconductedtocalibratethesensorsagainstknowndustconcentrations.Thisstepwillhelpestablishareliabledustconcentrationmeasurementrangeforthemonitoringsystem.
